Why a foreign country
Every year, thousands of people choose to retire in a different country for business, pleasure, or adventure. There might be many reasons behind the decision to live in another country:
Weather conditions; reduced cost of living; new lifestyle; cost of health services ; lower tax payments; better quality of life, etc.
But, do you know the reasons why you are moving? There is no such thing as a perfect country to retire. You need to be honest with yourself. You need to prioritize your reasons for moving before you make a final decision regarding the country that will become your second home. If your main reason is cost of living, for example, there are many countries where you can significantly reduce the cost of living while elevating your living standard, affording little luxuries that are probably not possible to manage back home—a full-time maid, for example, a cook, a gardener, even a driver. In some places, it’s even possible to live comfortably as a foreign retiree for as little as $1,000 US dollars a month.
Others are looking for adventure. Many retirees just look for a place with tropical warm weather without placing too much weight on other factors such as cost of living or tax payments. A trend that is becoming more popular every day is to choose countries for retirement based on the quality and cost of the health infrastructure and services. In many countries, like the US and Western Europe, it is almost a luxury to get sick or to pay for a medical procedure. On the other hand, contrary to popular belief, many countries in Latin America and Asia now have state-of-the-art hospitals and doctors who have been educated in top medical schools all over the world. Thus, you can basically experience the same quality of medical care for a fraction of the cost you would have paid in your home country.
So, then we face the most important and difficult question to answer: Where will I retire and spend the rest of my life? Well, Primetime People is there to help you answer that question. Our mission is to provide you with updated reliable information in a face-to-face process, not through a simple article posted on a web page. We are aware that you will need help, not only to decide where to move, but also during the “landing” stage in the new country.....well, we will also be there with you to help you experience a “soft-landing” process.
You need to remember that you are choosing a new way of life, not just a country. Please keep in mind that no country will fill all your expectations regarding weather, health services, cost of living, retiree communities, etc. Thus, we insist, prioritize your reasons and make your selection based on your priorities and objectives. This has to do with an opportunity to enrich your life and to reinvent yourself. Do not waste this opportunity by making the wrong selection.
